Shoulder tendonitis

The older you get, the more likely you are to develop tendonitis, especially if you are over thirty, and tendonitis can occur in any area, but it is common in the shoulder joint. Our ability to use our body and its ease of movement deceives us, and makes us think that it is simple, but this is not true, the shoulder that we use in most of our movements is a complex joint, which is made up of bones, muscles and tendons.

The shoulder is made up of the shoulder bones, which are the scapula, the humerus bones, a group of muscles that connect to the bones through tendons and ligaments known as the rotator cuff, and the bursa which is a fluid that prevents the friction of the rotator cuff with the shoulder.

What is a rotator cuff

The rotator cuff as explained is the set of tendons and ligaments that connect the bones of the shoulder to its muscles, and it is they that keep the upper arm inside the shoulder, and give you the strength and movement to rotate and raise your arms.

If the tendons in the rotator cuff are damaged or swollen, it can be infected with rotator cuff tendonitis, which may occur due to injury, or repeated movement, whether at work or playing sports, such as playing tennis, or because of washing dishes at home, which is a reason for some women to develop tendonitis.
